Youth in Motion

E = mc2
&mdash Albert Einstein

Without going into the details, Einstein established that time-travel is related to motion. The faster we move, the younger we become. With enough speed and mass, time literally stands still. That is called a black hole. I'm not making this shit up, man - it's in the physics.

I have been moving a lot lately. A good friend of mine used to chime, "Always Forward!" Indeed that is my effort. My trip to San Francisco was a nice one; my nephew enjoyed his birthday and the Skute bike I bought him. He has a wonderful new catch phrase: "That is very, very unusual. But not ridiculous." Where he gets his material, I have no idea. His birthday party included a tour of Giants stadium which I thought was really cool.

A week later, last Saturday, I found myself lying in the grass in center field of Dodger's stadium staring up at wisps of white clouds under a bright blue sky. I had just completed a 9 mile, very hilly circuit of Elysian Park with my training group. Our post-run stretches were right on the field. It was pretty cool, and I couldn't help but pair the two ballparks in my week of moving forward.

I bought a new bed. Rented a van. Hired a day laborer. Moved it. Made 3 trips to Bed Bath & Beyond in 2 days. Met friends for dinner three different nights. Saw my friend's amazing band rock Santa Monica to it's knees. Got two massages. One allergic reaction to an over-application of Tiger Balm. Saw a terrible movie in Alhambra with an amazing person; which was immediately followed by a terrific movie in Santa Monica with old friends (distance between the two theaters, approx. 30 miles).

I've moved back into the bed room now. I'm stripping staining my desk to match the bed frame. The stripper ate my flesh. It's nasty stuff.

Always forward.

I don't know if I'm getting younger, but I pray that in motion I will find something of myself that has been lost in the past, and avoid the black holes along the way.
